๐ฎ November/December 2025 Update!

Animal Farming / Ranching
Animal farming/ranching in the game focuses on the basic essentials โ raising live animals to produce valuable resources. Your success in animal farming depends on care and interaction: building trust with your animals, feeding them regularly, and letting them out each day for exercise.
Chicken Farming โ Build and manage your own coop, each coop holds two animals! Let them out each morning, keep their feeders stocked, and watch them roam your farm looking for food… After a period of proper care (daily feeding + outdoor exercise), your hens will reward you with fresh eggs. They won’t venture outside in bad weather, and watch out, there’s a chance they’ll return early if their coop is left open which means their daily excercise won’t count!
Sheep Farming โ Raise sheep in your barn with the same care-based mechanics. Feed them daily, let them graze outdoors, and shear their wool when it’s ready for your textile production chain.

Fishing & Gathering

- Fishing โ Grab your rod and head to the water for a fishing mini-game! Track and hold your hook over the fish to reel it in. Different fishing spots may offer different catches with weighted rarity โ will you land a common herring or a prized catch? Fishing costs energy per cast, and you’ll need to purchase a fishing permit before you can fish in the Royal waters. Master the different timings of each fish - you’ll need quick reactions as well!
Forestry & Agriculture
Tree Planting & Growth โ Plant seeds and watch them grow through a full lifecycle: seed โ sapling โ mature tree. Growth follows the seasons, so plan your orchard carefully โ some trees won’t thrive in certain seasons.
Scarecrow โ Protect your precious crops from hungry crows! Place scarecrows strategically to create protective zones around your fields.
Crop Growth Threats โ It’s not just crows after your precious seeds. Weeds also threaten your crops โ they’ll block growth and eventually kill unprotected plants if left too long. But don’t worry: fenced areas are safe from weed invasion!
Resources, Buildings and Production
Ore Sites โ I have now added dedicated areas for the daily rotation of ore and clay. There is a tiered system for random ore spawn chances, with higher value resources spawning less frequently over fewer spots.
Spinning Wheel โ Turn wool into valuable yarn for textile production! Yes, this is the start of the textile crafting in the game. Load up the spinning wheel and put your best foot forward!
Hay Bales โ Lay out grass to dry in the sun which will turn into hay to feed your larger animals and will be a required resource in some farming sheds. You’ll need a few consecutive dry days for the grass to cure properly. Rain, snow, or freezing temperatures will reset your progress โ so keep an eye on the weather! A detailed tooltip shows exactly how your batches are progressing.
Cooking โ Fire up the cooking pot and prepare delicious meals! Toss in ingredients and fuel (wood or coal from your inventory), then let time do its work. Cooked dishes bob enticingly above the pot when ready. Recipes range from simple snacks to complex multi-ingredient feasts, each with their own cook times and fuel requirements.
Furnace โ Smelt ores into ingots for onward weapon, tool and armour crafting. Craft bronze ingots by combining tin and copper ore! The furnace uses a three-tier fuel system: daily base fuel to keep it hot, smelting fuel per job, and your raw ore. Finished ingots display clearly so you know exactly what’s ready to collect.
Smoker โ That’s right, a good old fashion smoker! Smoking eligible items also provides certain buffs. Use it to cure fish to increase its shelf life.
๐๏ธ Building/Crafting

New Fences โ Build fences and gates that automatically connect to their neighbours. Place tiles and watch them seamlessly form corners, T-junctions, and straight runs โ no fiddly rotation required.
Architect Table โ Plan your farm expansion with blueprints and permits. Some structures require official permits before you can build them, adding a satisfying progression to your construction projects.
๐ฏ Player
Player Hygiene & Cleanliness โ If you forget to bathe for a few days or carry expired items like fish on your person, you’ll start to stink. NPCs will notice โ some shopkeepers might even refuse to serve you! Take a dip in water to wash away the grime (and those embarrassing stink lines floating above your head).
Edible Food Buffs โ Food does more than restore energy! Certain meals grant temporary buffs: move faster, regenerate health over time, hit harder, or carry more weight. Buffs persist through saves and scene changes, so that hearty breakfast will keep you going. Watch your buff icons to track what’s active.
Quality of Life
Player Inventory Bin โ Accidentally picked up junk you don’t need? Drag unwanted items to the bin slot to stage them for deletion. Items are only destroyed when you explicitly confirm โ and if you close your inventory or save the game, staged items safely return to your pack. No accidental losses!
Loading Screen Tips โ Scene transitions now feature helpful gameplay tips drawn randomly from a growing database.
๐ Environmental

Climate & Atmosphere
Temperature โ Winter is coming! Cold weather affects your farm in meaningful ways. Freezing temperatures can impact crop drying, animal behaviour, player energy and more. Adding additional urgency for textile development, firewood gathering and resource storage before the days get shorter and the light draws in earlier.
Lighting โ Experience beautiful day/night transitions with smooth lighting fades. Dawn breaks gently, midday shines bright, and dusk settles into atmospheric darkness. Your lantern automatically activates when it gets dark outside (and politely turns off indoors).
Seasonal Rules โ Dusk and Dawn will respect the seasons, which means it will get darker earlier in the Winter. Crops follow seasonal rules โ plant in the wrong season and they won’t grow! Some crops are perennials that survive winter; others will die when their season ends. Plan your farm calendar wisely!
๐ช Bottom Line Summary TL;DR
There has been huge development progress in Nov/Dec
- Animal management โ Raise animals with daily care routines, trust-building, and resource production.
- Multiple resource gathering โ Fish with skill-based mini-games, grow trees, and harvest the land for more now with tin, copper, bronze and clay.
- Complex production chains โ Spin wool into yarn, dry straw in the sun for animal feed and crafting, cook elaborate meals, and smelt ores into ingots.
- Advanced building mechanics โ Auto-connecting fences, smart gates, and permit-based construction progression.
- Rich player progression โ Temporary food buffs, hygiene consequences, and temperature influences on you and your farm.
I’m really pleased with the progress, but although I had planned to be part of the Steam Next Fest in February, I probably will have to skip this one. Whilst I could release a working demo copy of the game with some farming and crafting, I’m still working behind the scenes on quests and player/enemy attack and defence. I really want this to be a highlight of the game for any player looking to move away from the cosy home crafting and farming area into the town and further across the map, in dangerous strongholds. Expect this to be the focus for next month!
