September 2025 Update

25 Sep 2025

Hi everyone! This month’s update covers progress and our thoughts around farming, energy and sleep mechanics for the game. Let’s dive in!

The key development focus for us right now is around the farming, energy consumption/restoration and bedtime/exhaustion mechanics. We want to spend some time here ensuring it feels right and balanced. We’ve also playtested ALOT over recent weeks and we think it’s shaping up well, we are very excited!

Getting up early in the morning in the game fully depends on what time you go to bed -and getting up early has its own rewards. You’ll experience more in-game events for a start, and that means more opportunities to earn rewards and build on those key relationships.

Farming

As we continue to focus on farming, we’ve been hard at work engineering how your crops will behave in different weather conditions, how much produce they offer, and what rewards/benefits they will provide, as well as being your character’s source of energy and sustenance.

We’ve been working on visual feedback and cues for when crops are ready to harvest. Initial user group feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with some suggestions that the crop sparkles are…erm….quite expansive shall we say?! We aren’t finished with this yet, and mostly we are just playing around, but it’s looking good! 😎

WOW! MUCH SPARKLES!

Energy

Next up, energy!

Your energy is low

You’ll get an alert when your energy is low to remind you to eat or get some rest!

As we focus on getting the mechanics of the game right before we move onto quests and other areas. One of the biggest focal points is player energy, sleeping, and recovery. This is now implemented, but we will probably tweak it here and there. Crops will provide your character with energy, each crop provides a different amount of energy with some crops harvesting in abundence and others much less.

On the other hand, all combat weapons and tool actions will have an associated energy cost depending on the difficulty of the action or class. For example, when you start out, you’ll only start with rusty old tools and these tools require more precision and effort to use. They also won’t be any good at landing multiple hits. The key to managing your character throughout the game will be down to how you manage their food intake, rest, and recovery, alongside the actions you take. We plan to make this as cozy as possible, whilst keeping the game challenging!

You’re exhausted!

When your energy is too low, you’ll be unable to perform certain actions until you rest or eat. You’ll still be able to sow seeds and water the soil.

Sleep

Sleeping is a crucial aspect of the game, allowing your character to recover energy and prepare for the next day ahead, or even just for skipping ahead in time when you have finished for the day. Sleeping will be a daily requirement in order to prevent the player from passing out from exhaustion. Again, we want to keep it cozy, but there will be consequences if you don’t sleep!

That’s it for this month. Thanks for reading! As always, feedback is super helpful β€”let me know what you think about the game so far via our socials! Next month, we’ll be talking about weather and seasons, among other things, so stay tuned!
